Beating the Spider Queen

Having trouble beating the queen down in the temple? On your mini-map you should notice that there are little indents in the room. Stand in front of one of these little indents and wait for the Queen to charge, move out of the way and she

will be stunned. Then attack her from behind using combos like X,X,A+A+A+A or A,A,X+X+X+X. After the Queen starts shooting 3 purple blobs at you, change from combos to the tornado kick move. The long annoying battle will be a walk in the park.

Spirit Strikes

You are invincible when charging up for a spirit strike so you can use them defensively as well as offensively.

Easy Florins

In the Shadow World, there is a Grim Reaper that pays gold for Spirit Orbs. After you have obtained the weapons for each character from him, he buys the Spirit Orbs for Florins. Use the save point after the bridge then go through the gate and kill all the monsters. Leave, then go through again. The monsters will have respawned. Keep collecting the orbs and sell them. To save a lot of Florins during the game for weapons and armor, kick over every barrel and box that you see to get the free items and not have to buy them from the stores. . If you want fast Florins, sell all of the items you find to the shops.

Defeating the Final Master

Power up Tai as much as possible. Have a lot of SP Restores and a very strong sword. The Master is extremely powerful and is very fast. Keep using the Tai Earth attack and you should defeat him.

Juggle attack

Note: To do this attack you must use either Tal or Buki. When fighting an enemy, press X(2), A then follow it with A(3). The last button combo will juggle the enemy, and does more damage then a regular attack.

Hukin’s Fate

After you get Ailish in your party on your way back to Haskilia, you will pass through Noland Farm. Go inside the house and go downstairs to find a chest containing a weapon for Tal called Hukin’s Fate. This sword casts poison on enemies.

Transentia: Defeating the Prototype Robot

When you reach the city of Transentia, find the elevator and take it to the floor with the university and Kamo’s item shop. Just outside the item shop is a ladder. Use Tai to climb it and a robot will tell him that he can challenge the Prototype Robot Warrior. Note: Only Tai can challenge him. Climb the second ladder and the fight will begin. This is a very difficult battle, however if you use the following strategy you will win. However, this requires time and patience. It is also recommended that you use a weapon with a high critical and moderate strength. The robot has few attacks. One is a single strike, the next is a double strike, and its most powerful attack is a charged 360 degree that will instantly kill you (you cannot block it). When the battle begins, run to bottom left corner and start blocking. When he starts to attack, wait until he does the double strike attack (it has a yellow streak). After blocking the second strike, hit him once then start blocking again. Repeat this until he charges up for the instant kill attack. When he starts glowing, run to the opposite corner and the attack will not reach you. After the attack, run back to the first corner. This corner is best because it has the least camera problems. Repeat this process until it is defeated. By following this strategy you can defeat the robot without getting hit. The fight will take some time to finish, but you will win. Once the robot dies it will drop a large gold bar that you can sell for a lot of Florins. Open the chest on the platform and you will get another of Tai’s Wolf Totems.

Getting the heart for the robot

Go back down to the mines and defeat one creature after you get the crystal for the professor. Note: Do not use the portal.

Alternate way to beat the Spider Queen

There are four individual walls covered with green slime at the edge of the arena.

Attack behavior of the Queen Spider:

1. Venom spitting, the pre-attack of Charging attack.

2. Charging, it will always charge to attack to Buki from the centre of the arena.

3. Stomping, a few seconds right after the charging attack

Method to beat the Queen:

1. Place Buki, in front of the green wall and face the Queen Spider.

2. Watch out for purple venom spat from the Queen Spider.

3. Before it charges, it will raise up it two front leg (that is the indicator for you to get ready to dodge its attack). To dodge the charging attack, you can either run away or use right trigger and left thumbstick to side roll.

4. Once it misses the attack, it will stick on to the wall for a few seconds, and it will struggle to break free. This is the golden opportunity to attack it.

5. Attack it for a few seconds and move out of its stomping attack range.

6. Once the stomping is over, it will move back to the center of the arena to recharge itself.

7. Repeat steps 1 to 6.

New Beginning

Beat the game once to unlock a new opening sequence for the next game you begin.

More revolver ammunition

To get more ammunition for the revolver that you get in the beginning, instead of waiting for that one person you find to die from the electric chair, kill him with the sickle that is found in the cell. The gun will have a lot more ammunition.

Tool References

There are two references to a song by the band Tool called “Ticks and Leeches”. Early in the game look closely at one of the walls. You will see the words “Ticks & Leeches” which references the song. This is not a coincidence, as later in the game, about where the Noosemen appear, written on the wall are the words “Suck Me Dry”, which is a phrase constantly repeated in the song. Also, the phrase “I hope you choke” or “I hope you choke on this” can be found written on a wall some time before the gun fight with the guards and the man with the gun turret. This is also part of that song.

The Shining Reference

After you leave the Asylum where you do all the tasks with Doctor Killjoy, you will be in an area which has what appears to be a nine-step staircase. Walk up it and follow the wall. Sou should run into an opening that has walls made of some type of vegetation. You will hallucinate and see images of your children. As you follow them, they will run down one way. While continuing to follow them you will encounter a corpse that is sitting up against the vegetation wall, with an axe laying beside him. This is a reference to The Shining, where Jack Nicholson is chasing his son through the labyrinth and dies against one of the walls inside. Note: The Shining was also mentioned in the game’s bonus material.

The Ring References

When you are in the abandoned World War II bunker, you will encounter a desk with three phones. Two of them are are green and the other is red. Pick up the red phone first and you will hear the a girl’s voice say “You will die in seven days”. Also, in Chapter 15 (An Eye For An Eye Makes The World Blind), as you come from a staircase with two small Slayers and one large Slayer, you will find yourself in a small room with white walls and a few dead COs on the walls. There will be a phone next to the door you need to go through. Pick it up, and one of the Inferna Girls (the small girls in the pink nightgowns) will say, “You will die, in seven days.”

Defeating Creature At The Dock

Use the following trick to defeat the creature on the last level at the dock. The big creature will smash open a gate that has a control device that will lower a machine that shoots out a purple beam. Dodge the creature’s attack and stand so a beam will hit you. There is a delay between beams. After being hit, you will glow. Press R1 to throw a glowing ball. Aim for the red spot on its chest. Keep throwing balls until the creature falls in the water. If you cannot throw any more balls, stand under the beam to recharge.

“The Birds” Reference

In the level, “Darkest Night, Eternal Blight (12),” In the tool shed behind Pit #1 (as seen on the map by pressing “back”), there are a few items. But if you destroy the boxes near them, you’ll find a phone. Pick it up to hear a reference from Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Birds”: “Birds don’t just attack people,” the voice says.

Constant images

When you enable the “All items and weapons” code or two or more codes, you will constantly receive images from Dr. Killjoy’s room, where he has all the ink blot pictures everywhere on the walls where the man that had his eyeball taken off. To stop this side-effect, simply load a saved game before you entered the codes.

Unlock The Cat Character

To unlock the cat character you must beat beginner mode on 1 player mode.

Put Out Building Fires Faster

Hold down the Freeze Breath button for a couple of seconds to charge, before you let go and you will put out the fire in one breath. Also the lock brackets are visible through buildings and other objects so you can easily tell if there is fire on the other side of a building.

To get unlimited life press pause and then press Black, White, L, X, L, White and you should hear an explosion if you entered the cheat correctly.

Pause game play, then quickly press L(2), R, L, Y, X, White, Black(2), White. The sound of an explosion will confirm correct code entry.

Two Hidden Bosses

Simply beat 35 fighters in survival to unlock Athena and beat 36 Fighters to unlock Red Arremer. Then hold the R button over Tessa to use Red Arremer and hold the R button over Genjyuro to use Athena.

View Game Developers

When playing in two player mode, go to the mission where you have to protect Furious Thug. At some point you will reach a room with a lot of chairs and a jury stand in the front. Look at the walls until you see some pictures. They appear to be the game developers.

Get Inside Building

When playing in two player mode, at some point you will reach a mission where you start behind a big pile of sand. First, clear everyone on the other side of the sand pile. Then, go back to the sand pile. Get directly on top of it and you will see a ledge beside the pile. Walk on the ledge and keep going until you reach a new area. You are now inside, or close to the entrance of the door.

Mission Ten

Mission 10 ( the last level) is just an outgoing mission. All you have to do is eliminate everyone or restrain a few people. Do not worry about stealth. Just take aim and run and shoot. You will not fight Carter and do not worry about trying to get better parts on your gun for the mission.

Compliance

In every level you are required to arrest a certain number of suspects. Instead of shouting, if you prefer the assault rifle just shoot the suspects four times then shout for compliance. Sometimes they will give up[ others may die. Test this strategy on different people and find which ones may die when you shoot them.

Invincibility

Press Start to pause game play, then press Up, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, White, Black at the options screen.

Unlimited ammunition

Press Start to pause game play, then press Left, Right, Up, Down, Up, Down, Black, White at the options screen.

All missions

Press Up, L, Down, R, Left, L, Right, R, Up at the mission selection screen in either single player or cooperative campaign mode to unlock all missions in that mode.
